Morning Essentials: SUMMER EDITION

Hello lovelies,
I thought it was about time I showed you guys what I like to have every morning to make sure I start my day right! I do think if we wake in a good mood and have a few of our favourite essentials things in the morning then it starts our day on a good note and we carry that upbeat mood with us throughout the day. These are just a few of the things I enjoy having in the morning or things that I feel are a necessity to get me in that 'LETS DO THIS' attitude!

Since it's been so warm here in Ireland recently I have been loving this face mist 'Thermal Spring Water Spray' by La Roche-Posay. It just gives my face the water and hydration it needs in the morning since I don't like to use a moisturiser unless I'm going to be putting makeup on that day. This is perfect for giving your face that cool down effect and would be perfect for people that are going abroad also. Its so lightweight since it's just a mist and distributes very evenly over the face. I also love this for over my makeup if I feel as though my makeup looks too powdery, It almost gives life to the face and gives that natural dewy look to the face as I feel it really emphasizes my highlight without looking like a disco ball.

My to die for scent that I literally spray 3 to 4 times a day, not because it doesn't last..because it does! But because it just smells so light and not over powering, It's great for that 'everyday scent' and almost makes me feel relaxed. I got this French Connection Body Spray quite a while ago but I just never used it. It's such a different type of scent to my usual fruity perfumes but its very addictive. It is described as having hints of vanilla, oriental and floral notes. This describes this scent perfectly. As you can tell I am obsessed and in need of a new bottle.

I have been really into magazines lately(...turning into my mother). I love looking at the beauty and fashion sections mostly. My favourite magazine lately has hands down been the U Magazine which is an Irish Magazine, Woohoo. And it's only €1.70, I'd love to be buying Elle more frequently but they are just so expensive. The fashion section in the U Magazine is just to die for, they have it colour co-ordinated to show different pieces in that one colour. I also love the Pippa O' Connor section that she does for the magazine where she shows a few of her favourite things, she's a serious goddess! If I have read all my magazines then I just love to use my bush tablet to look up online magazines such as 'Stylist'.

A must for most people every morning is some type of beverage, I like to start my day off with something warm to really make me feel relaxed and at ease. I would either have a Hot Lemon Water which I have been having a lot lately. Starting your day with a lemon water detoxifies the body and helps with clearing out any toxins from our system and also helps with digestion. If I feel I'm going to have a long day or if I'm going to be busy with college I do love my Nescafè Gold Blend Coffee. And when I do have my coffee I go big with my mug which is a huge christmas mug I got a few years back in Belgium, go big or go home right?

For the mornings when I don't have a full shower I love having a quick body shower to wake me up. I've been loving this 'Radox Spa Enriched Shower Cream'. It has Hibiscus, Frangipani and Coconut Oil infused into it and the Coconut scent is so relaxing in the morning. This shower cream really does leave my skin feeling so nourished and soft. The spa range from Radox is outstanding and it really does make you feel like you're in a spa with their wide array of scents.

Now what kind of morning would it be without my trusty 'Tangle Teezer'. To the creater of this brush I applaud you to the moon and back. This brush has been a god sent for my hair and it really does feel like I'm not damaging my hair when it's being brushed. I use this on both wet and dry hair and I really do swear by this product. I have had this one for over a year now even longer and I am in need of a new one as their after launching ones with the cutest designs. Also got to have some 'Bobby Pins' of course which are forever going missing.

The Summer Geranium Nail Inspiration

Hello lovelies,
Recently I have been majorly obsessed with painting my nails and I have been on the hunt for more nail polishes as I am running out of summer colours in my collection. I was helping my mother recently with her garden ( really just watching her do everything) and I just had to take a picture of her Geraniums which she has in a window box in the front of our house. The picture just came out so beautifully with the rain drops on the petals.

This gave me major inspiration to search my collection for a shade which is near enough in colour. I did have a maybelline nail polish colour  in 'Orange Attack' // Here but it does tend to leave a bit of a tint on the nails when removing the nail polish. I did a bit of noising in my mothers nail polish collection as she is always painting her nails. I found this amazing Clinique nail polish, the range is called 'A Different Nail Enamel' and the shade is 'Summer In The City'. I have no idea if this is a recent purchase or if it's from a few months back but what I do know is that it is just the most beautiful orange summer shade with that hint of coral thrown in there too.

As you can see by the picture, the colour is almost identical to the flowers. It goes on so smoothly with a max of two coats just to get that full pigmentation but in my opinion you could get away with one good/generous coat. But of course I have to do two because I love that high pigmentation pay off and it also helps with the longevity of the nail polish. I do feel as though this doesn't last a whole week without any chipping but it definitely lasts 3/4 days. There is also no tinting of the nails when removing the polish which I am so happy about as this does tend to happen with some polishes that are such a bright colour. Another bonus you ask? It drys amazingly quick.

Pink Summer Vibes!

Hey loves,

As its coming into the summer months I have been really trying to incorporate colour into my makeup, my wardrobe and also into the layout of my bedroom. It really does brighten up your mood and creates a sense of relaxation and unwinding. I am definitely the type of person who goes through different phases with regards to colours. Since this post is all about the summer vibes it has to do with colours that are bright and are colours you would normally associate with 'summer'.

Lately I have been obsessed with the colour pink, and I think this is the perfect colour from coming out of spring and into summer as it is definitely a colour to brighten up the face and your style. I have put together a few of my favourite 'pink' beauty products which I have been loving lately and definitely products which get me into those summer vibes.

Essence Unforgettable Kiss Duo Blush:
This blush gives the most soft and gentle flush of baby pink to your cheeks. It is perfect for that naturally fresh look that we all strive for in these summer months. And how pretty is it though, seriously so sweet! This was part of essence's valentines limited collection so I don't know if its still available (sorry).

Sleek Blush in 'Pixie Pink 936':
For those who rather a blush which is more noticeable and brings that real flush of pink to the cheeks now this is perfect for you. It is the most amazing bright fluorescent pink which can be applied to the cheeks with just the slightest touch as it is quite pigmented.

Sleek Pixie Pink Blush €5.99 // Here

Catrice Liquid Metal Eyeshadow in 'Gold n'Rose':
This eyeshadow needs no words.. It is just the most beautiful eyeshadow that gives an almost liquid/foiled effect to the lid. I just want to have the whole collection right now! I am blown away with the longevity of this eyeshadow and the pigmentation is outstanding. Apply either wet or dry to the lid, I like to apply it with a damp stiff brush for maximum colour payoff and little fallout.

Catrice Liquid Metal Eyeshadows €4.49 // Here

Lancome Juicy Tube 'Pamplemousse':
This is one of the mini juicy tubes from the travel set and I have loved these lip glosses for years now. This give the most intense shine and they are also known for their pleasant taste. They are quite sticky so a little goes a long way. This colour is the perfect neutral shade with that hint of pink/mauve.

Wet n Wild Lipstick in 'Bare It All':
This is the most perfect 'me' colour. If you know me you know I LOVE that "Kylie Jenner" pinky/mauve lipstick colour and I was so delighted when I saw the 'Wet n Wild' counter in Penneys. This colour is known for being the most accurate dupe for 'Mac Blankety'. For just €2.99 you cannot go wrong. It definitely is a matte lipstick and it also lasts ages. What I love about these lipsticks is they dont dry out my lips what so ever.

Mac Blush in 'Pinch o Peach':
This is my first ever blush from mac and as you can see I have used it quite a lot. What I love about mac blushes is that you get your value for money as they last forever. This is definitely a must have for me as it gives such a nice and neutral pink colour to the cheeks. It is so versatile, It is gorgeous for a natural look and is also perfect with a bronzed summer look.

Soap & Glory Hand Food:
This is by far my most well used and favourite drugstore hand moisturizer. Lately my hands have been going through this crazy dry spell which I have never had a problem with before. Seeing as it is coming into the summer months where our nails will be constantly a standout, I believe its key to nourish our hands to the max. This is perfect for us girls that are on a budget yet don't want to sacrifice quality and its the perfect size to throw into your handbag.

Hand Food €7.69 // Here
Soap &Glory Sugar Crush Body Buttercream:
Us girls know how much effort we have to put into our routine from shaving the legs and then exfoliating the legs and then moisturizing the legs and on top of that even tanning the legs. Its serious maintenance which I hate with a passion. But I do have to say moisturizing every few days does make such a difference and this sugar crush body butter from Soap & Glory is a current favourite of mine. Its a real thick formulation and intensively nourishes the skin and is great for applying the night before to let it soak into the skin nicely.

Sugar Crush Body Buttercream €14.69 // Here

Essence Colour & Go Nail Varnish in '':
This is such an easy colour to pop on and it instantly puts you in that summer mood with that pink/coral shade. Now these nail varnishes do take a bit to dry but the colour payoff is seriously crazy and they are so affordable at just €1.49. Can someone say bargin?

Benefit Girl Meets Peal Illuminator:
A key in these summer months is that natural dewy look. Me personally I like to use a matte foundation all year round and then create that dewiness with my illuminator and highlighters. For the days that I don't want an intense powder highlighter I like to use this liquid illuminator for that natural yet highlighted glow.

LETS KEEP SUMMER GOING! MY SUMMER ESSENTIALS.

So as its the end of summer i thought id do a very summer inspired blogpost to make us prolong these summer feelings. During these amazing and VERY hot months i kind of start to realise what i use on an everyday basis and things i cant go without on these hot days. As it is well known summer usually in Ireland consists or clouds and a lot of rain, not your typical summer weather! But this summer has been completely different. It has been very hot and almost like ive been away all summer, temperatures up to high 20's! which is crazy for ireland, it has been a consist heat wave which we do not dislike!

So my first summer essential and almost a must-have is deodorant and perfume. Because of the hotness and the humidity it has raised the great need for deodorant, we cant be having any sweaty armpits now! The deodorant that i feel that really works is the 'dove original' .I feel as though its long lasting and keeps those pits smelling good. It also very good at making sure there is no white residue or powder that transfers onto your clothes. My favourite perfumes at the moment are the Katy Perry 'purr' perfume and also i have Beyonce 'Heat' , these scents are both very fruity and have that real summer smell and are what i wear everyday! They also last all day and night which is good when you're out for a long period of time and don't want to be spraying yourself every hour!

My one makeup item that i use mostly everyday is the 'Lash Blast Volume' by Covergirl! I only have this about 3 weeks but it just makes my eyelashes so much more voluminised and also give them great length, because i have very light eye lashes its important that the mascara is a true black and also has the right brush in which it gets to the roots of the eyelashes. This is a true essential!!

Another essential of mine in summer has to be a body moisturizer! Since its summer season and of course of skin is gonna be on more show than in winter when we are like Eskimos. And of course our legs are on show since the sun has been amazing and its been a killer heat season! Because of this we must make sure our legs are even just a bit acceptable cause i dunno about ye but its a big effort summer season, so having a good shave and a decent moisturizer makes that effort seem a lot more bearable. My Favourite Razor is the Gillette "Simply Venus 3". It gives me a really close shave and i have smooth legs for a lot longer than any other razor that Ive tried.

 I have 3 favourite moisturizers.
  • My all time favourite is the lush 'Celebrate' moisturizer. This is enriched with citrus scents and oils that make your skin feel so soft and make any dry skin disappear immediately. As i'm putting this on i feel as though i am indeed treating myself! This is a thick consistency and because of this i apply it at night so it has a good amount of time to really absorb into the skin.

  •  I also do this with my next favourite which is the Palmer's 'Cocoa Butter Formula' Body Lotion, this as it says does really smell like you mixed butter and cocoa powder together, it isnt the greatest smell but its AMAZING at moisturizing the skin!! As i said i do like to put this on in well advance or just before i go to bed to really let it absorb into the skin. I love this stuff, its absolutely well worth the cost! I know here in Ireland it is quite expensive for a lotion from the drugstore at around €10 but its really not that costly as it lasts ages!

  • If you're looking for a body moisturizer/lotion that is good for on the go or not a heavy or thick consistency i would definitely recommend the Nivea 'Irresistibly Smooth Body Lotion'. I have two of these and they are both amazing! They really do nourish the skin and make it less dry, although i do feel as though my legs do get quite dry but if i use this everyday it does a really good job and it is at a very inexpensive price, you just can never go wrong with Nivea.

Next of course is the Tan, and of course ye should all know i swear by my love of cocoa brown tan!! ITS AMAZING! i literally never have any problems with it, no streaks at all, its so easy to use and apply. And im quite pale and it doesn't look orange or anything, it looks like a rich tan colour and then i like to have a quick body shower. This is just so i cant get of the slight tan smell and the top layer which just sits on the skin and this gives me the most amazing tan colour EVER! The only thing i would change is the dispenser, i got the travel pack which is 'woooowza', it contains a travel size of the moisturizer, scrub and of course the tan. And this tan had the pump dispenser which i much prefer over the original one.

My two favourite nail varnishes to use lately have been the rimmel '030 Double Decker Red' which is a vibrant red colour and really does protray the colour of summer. This colour is amazing on both tanned and pale people and is a hugee favourite of mine, i dont think i could live without this one! I use about 2 coats and this is perfect,it usually lasts about 4/5 days!  I Also have two other nail colour favourites that ive been constantly using this summer, these are both from Maybelline, '241 Orange Attack' sometimes a girl has got to embrace the orange and it looks so summery and really compliments any skin tone and i love it for both pale and tan times! '120 Urban Turquoise' is another favourite, this is a perfect blue for every season and i will be forever wearing and loving this colour! They also last a generous amount of time before it chips, great for such a reasonable price!
