The Bomber Edit: Grease Lightening Vibes.

If you follow my other forms of social media such as Snapchat(@RouxellaBeauty) and Instagram then ye know that I recently took a trip away to the beautiful city of Dublin before returning back to my hectic schedule of lectures and continuous project work. Dublin is our favourite place to go when we feel ourselves needing a bit of TLC and a few nights away from everyday life and before any stressful events are about to come our way. We know our way around Dublin and we have a few key spots which we make our mission to visit every time we are up there. It’s great to know your way around Dublin while also finding new gems in which then become our favourite spots to visit. There is always such a buzz and upbeat atmosphere in Dublin, while also being quite relaxed as your worries regarding everyday tasks seem to drift away for that short time that you are up there. Before going on a trip I like to have some bit of a plan, this may be due to my love of organising events and activities but also to ensure that we get the most out of our trip away. Dublin is the perfect blogger location for its landscape, historical buildings, beautiful architecture and also the dynamic and modern locations such as Camden street and also around the RDS.

No matter what area you are in, there is always something unique and different which serve as the perfect backdrop for those daily outfit photographs. On day two we took a trip to Greystones in Wicklow, which is just outside Dublin. And of course, this was because we just wanted to visit ‘The Happy Pear Cafe’. We took some great scenic photographs and I also set up a little photoshoot in a park in the centre of Greystones. It was just beautiful and made the perfect location. I mean, if you don't take a picture, it didn't happen, right?

It was the most beautiful day in Greystones, as we were travelling on the dart it was almost like travelling along the coast of Greece. The sun was shining on the clear blue sea and the cliffs were sculpted to perfection. When planning a trip away, especially in Ireland, you just never know what you’re going to get weather wise. Therefore, being able to wear this midi skirt was the cherry on the cake.

Absolute Jewellery: It's All About Meaning and Signifigance.

After receiving this beautiful piece of jewellery from my mother after she visited Dublin with my family to celebrate her birthday I just knew I had to show this on my blog. I received this as a token for beginning my new and exciting journey of being an intern for the first time. I did not hear of this brand previous and I have no idea how, I must have been living under a rock. Especially because of the fact that Rozanna Purcell is the face of the jewellery line and if you know anything about me you know that I absolutely love everything about Roz.

A little bit about the brand themselves, Azara Jewellery was established by Arlene Nee in 1997 and is the wholesaler for not only silver but also costume jewellery located here in Ireland. Its main brand is ‘Absolute Jewellery’ and is also designed by the talented Arlene. As you can tell from her beautiful jewellery pieces and her very classic and elegant collections, Arlene has an eye for detail and her passion for creating jewellery shines through every unique piece. Since creating the Absolute Jewellery brand Arlene has begun working with designers internationally to bring her collections to her consumers at an affordable price.

Absolutely Jewellery is available throughout Ireland, the range consists of bracelets, necklaces, earrings and even rings. Absolute Jewellery is currently being stocked in over 200 retailers all over Ireland. To check your nearest stockist all you need to do is visit the Absolutely Jewellery website. It is also available from the Kilkenny Shop.

‘The Life Collection’ is available in both Rose Gold and Silver and also in a variety of symbolic meanings. Each bracelet is unique and there is one for every occasion, whether it is to celebrate a new journey, a new beginning or a birthday. These bracelets represent a variety of symbols and meanings and are the perfect present for either yourself or for a special someone. They can be worn alone or stacked on top of each other, either way they look luxurious and elegant.

The bracelet I received is the ‘Tree of Life’, it has a rose gold band with various charms. One being the tree of life symbol which represents ‘connecting all things in the heavens and the earth’, the Tree of Life has a special meaning to both my mother and myself, a light purple jewel symbolising purpose and fulfilment, a rose gold charm with the word ‘HOPE’, a diamante studded horseshoe and of course the brand logo. This is such a precious bracelet and I love pairing it with both dressy and casual outfits. However, I definitely wear it more on special occasions as it is so elegant and it means so much to me.

It is great to receive a piece of jewellery which is not only beautiful but has a special meaning behind it. Buying jewellery for someone is not the easiest, everyone’s preference to jewellery is different. Therefore, having a jewellery brand that provide a range which has a variety of meanings and significance which can relate to a person’s life or a special occasion makes the usual ‘jewellery buying process’ a diddle daddle.

Hope you enjoyed this post, I would highly recommend visiting the website,
Treat someone special,

The Edgy Grey Pleated Skirt.

This August bank holiday weekend I spent a few days away from the office and away from the usual going on in my life and took a very relaxing break away.I visited my family down in Caherdaniel in Kerry which was absolutely beautiful. It really does put into perspective how beautiful Ireland truly is when you get outside your on surroundings and travel around our beautiful island. It's crazy how much you can pack into just a few days away, I feel like I saw so much of Kerry in such a short few days. From visiting rivers, mountains, fairy gardens, skelligs chocolate factory(I was in awe and everything tasted very delicious) to cafes and restaurants. I don’t think I have ever been on a holiday and taken so many photographs, both being of the beautiful coastal scenery and of me and my family. It’s great to have those memories captured and being able to look at them whenever I can. To say I overpacked would be an understatement, but I think we are all like that. Especially when you are visiting Ireland with it’s bipolar weather. I brought the clothes that I have been wanting to post on my social media recently, I have been loving mixing and matching different styles lately.

I get all my fashion inspiration from Instagram and other bloggers, I don't feel I have one particular style and I like that. Some days I like being more chic and sometimes I like being more edgy and grungy. My style definitely depends on what I am doing and what mood I'm in that day. I absolutely love challenging myself when it comes to fashion and stepping outside my comfort zone.

This is a look that I thought about in my head as soon as I saw this skirt, I loved the idea of pairing a long pleated skirt with a pair of trainers to make it more edgy. Especially with the matching Nike T-shirt and the Zara leather jacket with its quilted and zipper detail. This outfit was very comfortable and it was perfect for the day that it was, a bit cloudy but humid. The majority of the time I had my leather jacket off as it was quite warm but as you all know, we do it all for the outfit post.
This skirt is definitely one that you could style in a variety of ways and each style can be different. It will definitely be a staple in my wardrobe for months to come.

Healthy & Homemade Spicy Cajun Chilli Turkey Burgers

Here’s another amazing food recipe that I have for you all. After seeing countless amount of turkey burgers being sold in butchers across Ireland, especially the beautiful creations that Kerrigans Foods for Fitness are starting to produce and sell. Their burgers are being raved about all over Instagram by various food and fitness bloggers. A few weeks ago I began to experiment with different flavours and ingredients, but first I had to make sure that I was buying the highest quality of turkey mince while still being affordable. I started to ask multiple butchers in my area about what they have to offer and the prices that they charge. I purchased the turkey mince from CL Meats and all the vegetables and chilli from Lidl.

I have made an abundance of turkey burgers in a variety of flavours. But being the spice lover that I am, the first turkey burgers that I created were ‘Spicy Cajun Chilli Turkey Burgers’. What I love about making everything from scratch is the ability to experiment with different flavours and ingredients and of course, the ability to adapt a recipe to meet your dietary needs and your taste preferences. I am all for the spice and chilli kick so feel free to use as much or as little as you like. As you will see from the ingredients below I didn’t use any egg or 'binding' ingredient as I feel as though once they are chilled/frozen they hold their shape perfectly.

Ingredients
500g Turkey Mince
½ White Onion
½ Red Onion
2 Small Red Chilli’s(deseeded)
1 tbsp of Paprika
1-2 tbsp of Cajun Spice
1 heaped tsp of Garlic Powder

Method
1.Begin by laying out all the ingredients on your table and putting all the mince in a medium sized mixing bowl. Chop up the white onion, red onion and of course those glorious red chilli’s into very small pieces.

2.Once all those are chopped you can then add it to the mince. Next, add your spices. Mine consisted of paprika, cajun spice and garlic powder. I would always add fresh garlic but at the time I didn't have any on hand so the garlic powder is a great alternative.

3.Once you have all your ingredients in your mixing bowl all you have to do now is mix it all together, make sure you have everything mixed well. This starts the process of enhancing and marrying all the flavours together.

4.Scoop out a rough amount of the mixture and mould them into medium sized turkey burgers, I always just wrap them up in tinfoil. I usually keep 2 in the fridge and the rest in the freezer. I usually get 4/5 burgers depending on whether I go for a medium sized or a generous medium sized.

This mixture freezes brilliantly well and they taste exactly the same as the turkey burgers you cook fresh. I throw them straight into the oven still in the tinfoil wrapping and cook them at 180C for around 20 minutes until lightly brown. Having them in the tinfoil keeps them moist and juicy and doesn't dry them out.

Hope you enjoyed this recipe post, let's all get cooking together.
