The ULTIMATE Top 5 Brushes!

We all have those makeup brushes that we use all the time, the ones that we always find ourselves grabbing and those we feel we couldn’t live without. When I find a high quality brush I just have to have more than one in my collection. Four out of five of the brushes that I have featured on this blogpost are very affordable with the exception of one and I find that the durability and quality of these brushes are worth raving about. The fact is, most brushes that we find in the drugstore are manufactured in the same factory as those that are overly priced. There is nothing worse than when we spend a lot of money on brushes that don’t live up to our expectations. Most high end brushes tend to shed after a few washes.
From left to right, the first brush I use is the ‘Blank Canvas Cosmetics F22 Buffing Brush’. I bought this brush over a year ago and it is still in great condition. There hasn’t been one bit of shedding and it is still as compact and soft as when I first used it. I use this for both applying my base whether it is a primer or a liquid illuminator and also for my foundation. Due to its compact bristles, this brush gets the most coverage out of any foundation, from the lightest to the very high coverage foundations. It is perfect for blending out your foundation as it requires minimal effort, it’s almost like the brush does all of the hard work. It blends everything out so effortlessly and it also allows you to build up the coverage without any cakeyness. What I love most about this brush is that it doesn’t soak up the foundation, I find this happens with a lot of foundation brushes.

For both setting my foundation and bronzing up the face I always use my ‘Primark Powder and Blusher Face Brush’. This brush is of serious quality at such an affordable price. One side is more compact, dense and smaller in size which is perfect for setting your foundation with powder. It is not as large as the opposite side so it is perfect for getting into the crevices of the face such as around the nose and it is also great for setting the under eye area. The opposite side of the brush is amazing at bronzing up the face. What is great about this brush is that it is quite fluffy so there is no worry about harsh lines or applying too much product. Because of this, its blends everything out seamlessly and it is very easy to build up the intensity. I would highly recommend stocking up on all the Primark Beauty brushes as I have every one and they are definitely comparable to the high end brushes on the market.

Blank Canvas Cosmetics: E25/E26 Blending Duo €11.99
Now this brush might surprise you, can you believe that I use this brush both on my eyes and also on my face in a variety of ways. I use it mainly for blending out my eyeshadow. I use the F26 side first for the initial blending out of the base eyeshadow, this is one of the only blending brushes that I find actually blends out the eyeshadow without having to blend and blend and blend for what feels like days upon days. Even when I am using very neutral colours I still use this as it gives such a blended and seamless eyeshadow look. The F25 side is great for blending when you are using harsher shades and creating a dramatic look. Now for the surprise, I also use this on the face for contouring my face using both creams and powders. It is also the perfect shape and size for applying a highlighter to the high points of the face. No matter what type of product you are using, from a powder to a cream and even a liquid. Because of its size and its rounded shape, I find it's perfect at setting the under eye area with a powder and also blending away any fallout from your eyeshadow.

For the eyes I always use the ‘Real Techniques Shading Brush’. This brush is perfect for both applying a light layer of eyeshadow and also for packing on eyeshadow for a more dramatic and intense look. This brush has very compact synthetic bristles, it is perfect to use for both applying the eyeshadow and also blending the eyeshadow out with just a few swipes fur to its rounded tip. You always know you’re going to get such great quality at such an affordable price when you are purchasing any ‘Real Technique’ brushes. I have multiples of both their face and eyeshadow brushes, I highly rate all their brush sets.

Last but not least, the eyebrow brush I use every single time I fill in my brows is the 'Mac 266'. I have had this particular brush for years now. It was one of the first travel sized brush sets that I received. It has survived countless of travels and washes. It is perfect for applying both wax and powders, it has natural bristles and is also angled so it is great for creating both a natural and structured brow. The angled brush makes it easy to shape the brow especially around the arch of the brow. It is not as dense and compact as most eyebrow brushes out there, therefore, it is easy to build up the intensity of the brow shape and also the ease of cleaning the brush as the product doesn’t get trapped in the tightly compact bristles.

Blank Canvas Cosmetics

WHERE HAVE I BEEN? yes i know, no excuses i have been terrible! but i'm back for good!

This review is about a few brushes that i purchased around christmas time from Blank Canvas Cosmetics! I heard so many reviews from irish youtubers and bloggers about these brushes and I never really got the chance to order makeup online but i was so excited for this to be my first real purchase! The delievery was really fast, i'm gonna say like 4-5 days i believe. The website has a wide range of brushes and brushes sets and also eye shadow palettes and blush palettes. I was in aweeee!

I got 5 brushes and also a blush/contour pallete! I seriously love everything i got and i was so happy with the service and the quality of these brushes! I really like building my collection and i am just overall happy with the company.

My favourite brush that i got was the  'F22 HD DOME FACE BRUSH IN METALLIC PURPLE'. It is a really dense and compacted brush which gives a lot of coverage to your foundation and really buffs it into the skin instead of it just sitting ontop on the skin. It is also a rounded top so it can really fit and 'swirl' into the creases in our faces. Its also very soft and it is handmade from extra soft high quality synthetic fibers and whats even better? It is 100% cruelty free!!

Another face brush that i got was the 'HOT PINK F20 FLAT BUFFER BRUSH'. I use this brush for either my power to really make sure my powder it being pressed onto the face instead of moving around the product that's underneath. I also use it for foundation if im going for a more natural look as it isn't as dense and compact as the brush above. I first thought when i ordered this it would be a bit more compact but i am in no way disappointed as it makes the skin look so flawless.

The first eye brush i got was the 'E24 FLAT SHADER BRUSH' OMG! i cant even get over how much i love this brush, ever since i got it nothing else is as good as putting on my base eyeshadow. It evenly distributes the eyeshadow, it pacts it on so its vibrant and it's also extremely soft! I seriously need to get another few of these cause if i lost it i'd be devastated!

The  'E25/26 BLENDING DUO' brush is just amazing, I use the E26 to distribute the eye shadow into the crease and give it a little blend and then, just before i'm finished i go in with the other side to make sure there isn't a defined line. This blends my eyeshadow so beautifully like no other brush i have found and the E25 side is also good for powdering the under eye concealer and to get a defined/strong contour at the side of your face,This brush is so soft like all the others and this brush is made from natural goat hair.
€10.99

And last but not least the 'F10 SMALL SOCKET BLENDER'. Since ive gotten this brush they have come out with a newer version called the 'E10 SMALL SOCKET BLENDER(SYNTHETIC VERSION)' This is now a holy grail product for me! It makes it so easy to get a defined crease and gets into those places that might be difficult to get with a normal blending brush. This brush is very soft and is a must for us girls that don't have a very defined crease.

As you can tell i am delighted with these brushes and there hasn't been any shedding during the 6 months i've had them. These brushes are extremely versatile and affordable! They are top quality and at such an amazing price!! The service was amazing and was such an ease, especially when you're not use to ordering products online, The website is outstanding, so clear and informational!
http://www.blankcanvascosmetics.com/ . I cant wait till i make another purchase ,there is just so many brushes to chose from!!

MY AUTUMN FAVOURITES

Since its coming in to autumn months i thought it'd be my inspiration to put up a new blogpost FINALLY!

So i've been loving the autumn trends for this year, there something i can wear and everyone can wear! whether they have pale skin like me or dark skinned, no matter what body shape you are, EVERYONE can put them into their everyday look!

So for this blogpost I will be beauty and for the next blogpost I will be doing fashion!

So my my favoutite foundations for this month will have to be mac studio fix foundation in NW20, now this colour suits me best when i'm going out or when i have a little bit of tan on, i don't wear makeup on a daily basis so its perfect for staying on through out the night and not caking up if you blend it in properly. It gives no flashback and i love the finish it gives. Many people do complain that this foundation breaks them out and usually i do think the same, it wouldn't break me out badly but i would find i get a spot yet i don't know if that's by coincidence or if it really is the foundation but the last time i used it which was Sunday i didn't get ANY breakouts so i think its due to my skincare routine!

The next foundation is the double wear foundation by estee lauder! This would be a foundation i would wear if i was going town or just in the day instead of a night as it has some SPF in it! which is great for the day as it protects your skin! But for the night when you're taking pictures it will give a white caste over your face. The coverage on this foundation is amazing and there is NO cakiness at all! i am in-love with the foundation and must get the full size.

I have 4 favourite eyshadows for this month, for an everyday eye look i use macs 'retro speck' on the lid with sleeks 'boxed' and 'wrapped up' in the outer corner and blended into the crease. This look opens up the eye and also gives it the autumn look with the brown and a bit of purple in the crease.
This colour is amazing for opening up the eyes and such a natural lid colour. Its so blendable and and diverse its amazing!

'Boxed'

'Wrapped Up'

For a night look i like to use a bronze eyeshadow all over the lid which is sleeks bronze shade from the i-Divine storm palette. I cant find the name of it anywhere. It gives such dimension to the eye that it doesn't look like just one colour, if i want to add a colour i add the 'boxed' colour into the crease and outer corner.
These sleek eyeshadows are my favourite this month! They are so blendable and silky its amazing. They are also so pigmented, the colour payoff is UNBELIEVABLE.

My favourite bronzer will have to be the dior bronzer in 'Demo Poudre Soleil Tan' this has little shimmer particles in it and it gives such a great glow to the skin without looking over shimmery and cheap! a little goes a long way so i only need to touch the bonzer and it gives such pigmentation!! I think a strong highlight is also very in the autumn so it gives the best of both.

For this season i definitely think bold brows are a must, so i love using my urban decay eyeshadow in 'naked' to fill them in with a mac 266 brush and if i want a more sculpted brow i like to use my rimmel eyebrow pencil in 'blonde' this gives the eyeshadow something more to stick to and makes them look amazing!!

And of course my favourite lipstick would have to be 'Va Va Violet' by revlon, i did review this already on my other blogpost but this is just such an amazing pigmented lipstick that i am inlove with this, its such a daring lipstick and i'm so surprised that i can get away with it but i am so happy it is in trend this autumn. Another lipstick that has caught my eye is 'othodox' by revlon or macs 'fixed on drama' and i cannot wait to get my hands on it, it is a more berry lipstick rather than a purple vampy style.

My Skin Secrets!

So this is a post i always wanted to do and loved reading these posts on other peoples blogs, doing new things to help my skin which is in no means perfect, but in reality whose is, everyone finds something which they don't like about their skin!

These tips are something i will always use and have done me well so far, i hope!

First thing is something that is my holy grail product! It is the tree tree oil from the body shop! This stuff is amazingggggg! You can use your fingertip to apply one drop to the skin which is what i do or use a cotton bud, this drys out the oil from the spot and it reduces the spot greatly. I am repurchasing this forever i'd say and I just wish they did a deal where if you bring back 3 or 4 empty bottles you get one free or something like that! I also just found out that you can add 3 or 4 drops to a bowl of hot water. Cover your head with a towel and steam for a few minutes.

I change my pillow cases very often as bacteria and the oil from your face can as disgusting as it sounds build up. So i could get two sleeps on each side but normally i just wash it every time i have a shower. I do find that this does work and i always feel that it is way more hygienic.

The most important thing is drinking plenty of water. Hydration can leave the skin looking dull and very sickly, It also makes fine-lines and discolouration more prominent. Drinking water throughout the day hydrates the skin and gives it that glowy look that we all love and crave! what i do is make sure i bring a 500/750ml bottle of water with me to school everyday and have a glass at diner time too. I can tell that when i have breaks from school my skin doesn't look as good.

Try and eat skin loving foods such as almonds, avocado, spinach, blueberries, carrots, oranges, salmon, walnuts and the most exciting thing i found is that chocolate is good for the skin, cocoa hydrates the skin making it more firmer and glowy looking, it has a potent type of antioxidant and the best is dark chocolate above 70%.

I have also started to drink green tea, i usually have a cup before i go to school and i fell my skin has gotten a lot better and I'm not as stressed as i normally feel which is an extra bonus. Green tea is meant to help with wrinkles and the signs of aging, this is because of the antioxidant it has in it and their anti-inflammatory activities. It also show that it reduces sun damage from studies.

ALWAYS wash your makeup brushes, i always wash my foundation brushes after every use but id get 2/3 uses out out my eye brushes with just a quick clean. My favourite brushes have to be the real technique brushes from the amazing samantha chapman. ( New blogpost on them soon). What i also use to wash my brushes is the johnsons baby shampoo. This is amazing at washing my brushes and its at a very affordable price.
